NMBA at Anantnag: DCO begins weeklong inspection drive

ANANTNAG, March 07: Under the aegis of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, the Drug Control Office (DCO) Anantnag today began a weeklong inspection drive in the district.

The inspection drive will focus on medical establishments located in rural areas of the district.

On the first day of the drive, 25 sale outlets in Kokernag tehsil were inspected. The drive was carried out in Takiya Magam, Sundbrari, Lohar Senzi, Gadole, Vailoo, Dodhkul and Adhal area. The operations of 03 medical shops were disallowed on account of violation of provisions of the Drug and Cosmetics Act.

The team also lifted drug samples of various pharmaceutical companies for analysis. The team impressed upon the chemists to ensure maintenance of proper records of all scheduled H1 drugs as per norms.

The Assistant Drug Controller also warned of strict penal action against chemists / medical shops that fail to install CCTV cameras within a week’s time.
