“No one will be able to misuse the name of Kedarnath Dham”: Uttarakhand CM Dhami
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 20 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday virtually addressed the people at the Jan Milan program organized at Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag from the CM’s Camp Office in Dehradun.
In this virtual meeting, Dhami said that no one would be able to misuse the name of the Kedarnath Dham and further said that a proposal has been introduced in the cabinet.
“No one will be able to misuse the name of Kedarnath Dham. A proposal has been introduced in the cabinet and unanimously a decision has been taken that no one will misuse the name of Kedarnath Dham or any other dham,” Dhami said.
Further, he added that the temple that was being constructed has also been asked not use the name of Kedarnath Dham.
He said “The temple which was being constructed has been told to not use Kedarnath Dham’s name and the temple should be constructed on any other name.”
Earlier on July 16, after a controversy erupted around the construction of the Kedarnath temple in Delhi, to which Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, Swami
Avimukteshwaranand said that Mandir is not an economic centre, adding that an ‘alternative’ for Kedarnath Dham is not acceptable.
He condemned Delhi’s Trust of Kedarnath Dham’s provisions of refunding and transferring memberships and said the temple is not a centre of economic activities but rather a centre for meditation.
Speaking to the media about the recent controversy on the construction of Kedarnath Temple in Delhi, he asserted, “How did we know that Kashi Vishwanath is in Varanasi? Because it is mentioned in the ‘Shastras’. Similarly, it is mentioned in Shastras that Kedar will be in the Himalayas. The problem is that the advertisement of Kedarnath Trust of Delhi has written “Kedarnath Shifting” and Uttarakhand’s CM Dhami also participated in the ‘Bhumi-Pujan’ event, which means it is being advertised as an ‘alternative’ for Kedarnath Dham, which is not acceptable, as an alternative for Kedarnath Dham is only Kedarnath Dham itself.”
