Nodal Officer Complaints reviews Road Maintenance, Basic Facilities for Polling Day
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 12: Nodal Officer for Complaints,(Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri), on the direction of District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, reviewed preparations for smooth conduct of polling for the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly, 2024.
The meeting focused on maintenance of roads leading to polling stations and ensuring the availability of basic Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) for voters.
The Nodal Officer emphasized the critical role that infrastructure plays in facilitating voter access to polling stations.
The Executive Engineers (ExEns) from the Public Works Department (PWD), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) were directed to ensure that all roads leading to polling stations are properly maintained and accessible on polling day.
Special attention was drawn towards the remote and rural areas to ensure that voters in every part of the district can easily reach their polling stations.
The Additional District Development Commissioner instructed all departments to ensure that the basic AMF, including water supply, electricity, ramps, and proper sanitation, are in place at each polling station.
The meeting was attended by all Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), along with the Executive Engineers of PWD, PMGSY, and BRO, who assured their commitment to completing the necessary road works and providing adequate facilities well ahead of the polling day.
