Nodal Officer MCMC Rajouri chairs meeting with Media Persons to discuss Setup of Media Centre for Vote Counting
RAJOURI, OCTOBER 03: On the directions of District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, the Nodal Officer for Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), Ashiq Rafiq Malik, chaired a meeting with the media persons of District Rajouri.
The meeting focused on finalizing the arrangements for setting up a Media Centre on the day of vote counting, scheduled for 8 October 2024.
The primary objective of the Media Centre is to provide a central location for the dissemination of real-time election results, updates and official announcements to the press and public.
Ashiq Rafiq Malik highlighted the significance of efficient media operations during the vote counting process and emphasized that the Media Centre will ensure timely and accurate information reaches the public.
He also reiterated the role of the media in maintaining the transparency of the counting process.
Additionally, the Nodal Officer stressed the need for spreading positive feedback through media channels during and after the counting process. He pointed out that highlighting the success stories from polling stations and the smooth counting process would encourage trust and participation in future elections.
During the meeting, the District Information Officer (DIO), Rajouri, also sought suggestions from the media persons to enhance the operations of the Media Centre. He encouraged the journalists to share their insights on how to further improve the flow of communication and coordination between the election authorities and the press.
Media persons raised constructive suggestions related to real-time access to data, quick updates on the counting process and the availability of technical support at the Media Centre.
