Notorious drug smuggler apprehended under NDPS Act in Baramulla

Baramulla Police has struck a blow against the drug trade in the region by booking notorious narco-smuggler Rafi Raja under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.

Raja, identified as Mohammad Rafiq Khan, is a resident of Trikanjan Boniyar in Baramulla. According to police, Raja has been a major supplier of drugs to local youth in Uri, Boniyar, Trikanjan, Bijhama, and other areas of the district.

This action comes after authorities obtained formal detention orders. Raja had multiple cases registered against him previously, but he continued his illegal activities. He is currently detained and lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.

This arrest highlights the Baramulla Police’s ongoing efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the community. This year alone, police have reportedly booked over 112 notorious drug peddlers under the stringent PIT NDPS Act.
