Nowshera Forest Division organises Trekking to celebrate Chinar Day
RAJOURI, March 15: Trekking on trek route from city forest Nowshera to Tain Top organised for public by Nowshera Forest Division on the occasion of Chinar Day.
The Trekking was flagged off by Narinder Sharma, Chairman MC Nowshera in the presence of Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer, Nowshera and Dr. Taran Singh, Chairman Shaheed Azam Bhagar Singh Foundation Jammu.
The trek route passed through lush green forest spanning a distance of more than 2 km.
A trekking group of 30 persons comprising of school children, general public, PRI members, members of Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh foundation alognwith forest officials participated in the trekking.
The participants lauded the efforts of forest department for developing such trek route in the middles of the forest for developing connection of mankind to nature so that sense of responsibility for protection and conservation of natural forest develops in present generation.
A chinar sapling was also planted in the premises of Nowshera Forest Division by DFO Nowshera to mark the celebration of Chinar Day.
The Chairman of the foundation Dr. Taran Singh also presented medal to the winners and distributed kits among the participants along with Neelima Shah, DFO Nowshera.
Speaking on the occasion, DFO Nowshera said that such activities will increase the interest of young generation toward the conservation and protection of Natural forest along with natural landscape of the forest.
The Trekking expedition was jointly organised by Anil Kumar R.O Nowshera, Rakesh Verma R.O Sunderbani, Sudesh Kumar R.O Lamberi, Susheel Kumar B.O Nowshera, Rajinder Dev B.O Dharmsal.
The whole event was conducted under the supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests, West Circle Rajouri.
