Nowshera Forest Division promotes self-employment with beauty parlour kits, fruit plant distribution

RAJOURI, March 30: Nowshera Forest Division organised a large function at Sunderbani and Nowshera to distribute beauty parlour kits and fruit plants today. The Chief Guest was District Development Council (DDC) Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma and the Guest of Honour was Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Neelima Shah.

The programme was attended by Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, members of Municipal Committee Sunderbani, students, beneficiaries and a large number of locals.

Neelima Shah spoke about the various employment generation activities undertaken by the Forest Department under the Green India Mission to increase self-employment among locals. The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Forest Department is working towards livelihood options and exploring employment generation involving youth and women, especially in the Chir Zone ecosystem of J&K Union Territory.

Rajinder Sharma emphasised that self-employment is essential to attain the goal of a self-dependent nation and empower downtrodden and poor communities in rural India. Range Forest Officer Sunderbani, Rakesh Verma expressed gratitude to those who attended the programme and stressed that such activities help develop coordination between the Forest Department and local people for better conservation and protection of forests.

The event was coordinated by Block Forest Officers, Rajinder Dev Sharma, Rangeel Singh, Devak Ved Parkash and Deedar Singh with active support from Beat Guard Sunderbani Ishan Raina.
