NRLM: Mobile Cutting & Tailoring Centre inaugurated at Shopian
SHOPIAN, January 10: In a maiden drive to encourage the Tribal women populace for enhancement of Skill development at their door steps, a Mobile Cutting & Tailoring Center by National Rural Livelihood Mission (UMEED) Shopian was today inaugurated at Chanchmarg Shopian in presence of locals and officials from different line departments.
Mobile Cutting and Tailoring Center should have 25 SHG members who have a desire to get their socio-economic status transformed.
On the occasion, people congratulated the SHG members of Chanchmarg as well as the UMEED Shopian Team for establishing such types of Centers which will optimistically bring change not only in their economic circumstances but there will be a positive development to seek different opportunities being provided by different departments.
This is a structured initiative for ground level engagement of women as well as youth empowerment, said one local civil society member.
On the occasion, Irfan Basheer, District Programme Manager FI NRLM Shopian disseminated the prospective benefits of the UMEED programme. He said training could be linked through HIMAYAT and other skill development programmes.
He stated that in case they need financial support for their livelihood establishment, the Mission provides a Revolving Fund, Community Investment Fund and also Credit Linkage.
The Officers and Officials of NRLM and other line departments besides SHGs were present on the occasion.
