NSS and RRC unit of GDCW Kathua organized a Seminar on “Ozone Layer Depletion”
Kathua:- The NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua organized an Intra-College Seminar on “Ozone Layer Depletion” to commemorate G20 and Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The Purpose of seminar is to create awareness among the students. The entire event was conducted under the Patronage of Dr. Savi Behl, worthy Principal of the college. The function started with welcome address of Dr Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme officer. He briefed the students regarding ozone depletion which is one of the biggest threat to entire earth and emphasized upon the need that this serious issue should be redressed as soon as possible. The students presented their views on the importance of Ozone Layer and causes of its depletion.
Several problems or issues related to Depletion of Ozone Layer were presented and discussed in detail during the speeches. Ozone Layer depletion must be stopped, if not, it would have serious effect on human health and environment. The NSS volunteers and other students of the college participated in the event.
The participants Ms Riyanka of Sem 5th, Kashish of Sem 3rd, Prakriti of Sem 3rd and Ms Neha Sharma of Sem 3rd were given prizes on this occasion. The faculty members Prof Ravinder Kour, Prof Pankaj Nandan, Dr Naresh Sharma, Prof. Raj Kumari, Prof. Ritu Raj, Prof Mukesh Kumari, Dr. Ajay Sanotra, Dr. Deepti Salotra, Dr. Usha Kiran, Dr Varchaskam Sharma, Prof Satish Khajuria, Dr. Zahoor and Prof. Radhika were present in the event.
