NSS unit of GDCW Kathua conducts cleanliness drive
Kathua December 29: The NSS volunteers of Government Degree College for women Kathua Jammu and Kashmir UT conducted a cleanliness drive and door-to-door campaign on Day 2 of 7 Day long Winter Camp held at the adopted village They set an example in the village by cleaning each nook and corner of the village.
They disposed of waste material that was dumped by the side of roads and streets and awarded the people how to manage garbage decomposition. They also conveyed among the people f the message of cleanliness, hygiene, and the importance of sanitation. Later the NSS volunteers were divided into 8 different groups for conducting survey door-to-door.
They spread messages regarding various schemes of the Government such as Abhas yojana, Ayshuman Card, various loan facilities,, Labour cards, the opening of bank accounts, Jan Dhan yojna ,Beti Bacho Beti Padho, schemes related to Education loans and other procedures of various schemes launched by the respective government and aware them about their health and healthy lifestyle and also conveyed them to come forward with devotion and dedication for National services so that they can make their village a paradise and a true living place. During the survey, the people disclosed their various problems and hassles which are being faced by them.
The basic problem of people who are residing there is of related to drainage, drinking water, washrooms,dustbins,and improper garbage decomposition and some of the families complaint about the deprivation of Grant’s of various schemes. The entire door to door campaign and cleanliness drive was conducted under the patronage of Dr Sangita Nagari esteemed Principal of Government Degree College for women Kathua and supportive guidance of Dr Arun Dev Singh NSS Programme Officer.
