NYK Kathua organises 3-day training programme for Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals
DC inaugurates opening session, appeals participants to take maximum benefit of the opportunity
KATHUA, January 03: A three day training programme organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua for Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals on the theme ‘Youth Leadership and Community Development’ commenced here today.
Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the training programme by lighting the traditional lamp.
Over 40 members of Youth clubs of educational institutions and Mahila mandals drawn from different blocks of the district are participating in the three day training programme.
While interacting with the participating students, the DC called upon the youth to avail maximum benefits of the three day training programme which will mainly focus on skill improvement and their holistic development. He said such training camps provide opportunity to the youth to hone their skills besides acquainting them with recent developments.
Resource person, District Information Officer Kathua, Neeraj Bhargavm explained to the students about the nitty-gritty of Social Media and how it has changed the information dissemination scenario. He said the new media like social media has touched lives across all age groups and has played an instrumental role by offering plethora of services at no cost besides it has led to democratization of knowledge and broadened communication.
He added that social media has revolutionized everything by making the whole world a global village. He appealed to participants to use social media judiciously and prudently to avail different benefits it offers besides remaining vigilant about the darker side of social media.
Resource person, AD DECC Kathua, Naresh Gupta threw light on various self employment avenues offered by the government through different departments. He also gave a brief overview of skill sets required for different kinds of jobs.
Deputy Director, NYK Kathuam Som Dutt Zard hailed the Resource Persons for guiding the young trainees about the ways and means to stay abreast with the latest happening around them and how they can utilize this experience in realization of their goals. He said the objective of the training programme was to inculcate values amongst the youth and make them better citizens.
