NYK organises District Level Yuva Utsav 2023-24 at Govt PG College Rajouri
RAJOURI, MAY 23: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, today organised the District Level Yuva Utsav here in Government PG College. The event was organised on the theme “Panch Pran of Amritkaal ” .
The main objective of the programme was to celebrate the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” in the spirit of Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagidari and to form a fraternity of young artists, writers, photographers and orators of the country under the mentorship of experts. Similar programmes are also being organised across the country in all 623 districts by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India.
District Youth Officer, Nitin Hangloo briefed about the objectives of the programme. He said that in the one day programme, five different events/ competitions will be organised. Youth will participate in Young Writers Contest (Poetry), Young Artists Camp (Painting), Mobile Photography Contest, Declamation Contest, Cultural Fest – Group Folk Dance. He added that the objective of the programme is to provide a platform to the talented youth of the district.
Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, Principal Govt PG College Rajouri presided over the Inaugural Ceremony by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Pervaiz Malik along with Hamid Malik and Dr Zakir were the jury members of Cultural Festival while Dr Saima Aslam, Dr Mohd Kousar Ali Jafri and Abdul Hamid judged the participants of Declamation Contest. Madhu Sharma, Rajinder Sharma and Sanjeev Sharma were the jury members in Painting while Shiv Dutta and Rohit Sharma were jury members in Photography. In poetry, Vishal Singh, Dr Zakir Bhall si and Rafaqat Hussain were the jury members.
More than 300 young boys and girls from nook and corner of the district presented their talent in their respective categories. Students from differ educational institutions of the district also participated in the mega event. Cultural teams belonging to the remotest corners of the district added colours to the event.
In the valedictory session, appreciation certificates were provided to the Jury Members and certificates and mementos were also provided to the winner of all the categories. The winners shall now participate in the State Level Yuva Utsav. Special Appreciation Certificates were awarded to Dr Naseem Ahmed, NSS Program Officer Govt PG College Rajouri for providing necessary collaboration regarding the event and Vikrant Sharma for management in the competitive events.
Mohammad Yasser and team from Kotranka secured the First position in Cultural Festival, while Chitranjan Sharma and group from GDC Doongi and GHSS Kalakote secured second and third position respectively. In the declamation contest, Iram Gafoor emerged victorious while Mohammad Nishat and Mehlaqa Batool were the runners up. In Mobile photography, Arusa Mirza was the winner while Mohd Amaan, Neelakshi Sharma and Nitin Gupta were the runners ups. In painting, Simran Sharma wsecured first position while Tanmay Sharma and Zaheer Abaas secured second and third position respectively. In Poetry, Jaspreet Kour was the winner while Irfan Khan and Nazeema Akhter were the runners up.
The staff from District AYUSH Department also installed a stall of Ayurvedic Medicines and provided free of cost medicines to hundreds of youth. Special standees and informative banners were installed by the Central Bureau of Communication from I&B Ministry which enlightened the youth regarding various schemes of the Govt of India.
The National Youth Volunteers under the guidance of Sh Sadhu Ram Salgotra assisted in management of the mega celebration. Nitin Hangloo, DYO thanked the College Management for collaboration in the mega event and expressed gratitude towards the youth of the district for participating in the event with high enthusiasm.
