OBC Department JKPCC Pays Tribute to Karpoori Thakur on His DeathAnniversary

On the death anniversary of the great socialist leader and former Chief
Minister of Bihar, Karpoori Thakur, the OBC Department of Jammu and
Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) organized a tribute event under
the leadership of Madan Lal Chalotra, Chairman of the OBC Department.
The event was attended by Darshan Mehra, Amit Mehra (State Coordinator,
OBC Department, JKPCC), Jagdish Kashyap, Susheel Panday, Rajan Kashyap,
Rashu Kumar Mehra, Prem Sagar (Joint Coordinators), Sumit Kumar, Bansi Lal
(OBC leaders), and many other party workers.


Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Chalotra highlighted the immense
contributions of Karpoori Thakur to the upliftment of the backward classes. He
recalled how Thakur Ji dedicated his life to social justice and empowerment,
ensuring that marginalized communities received their due rights in
governance and society. He also emphasized the need to follow Karpoori
Thakur’s ideology and work towards the betterment of the OBC community in
Jammu and Kashmir.

The entire team discussed Karpoori Thakur’s visionary leadership and his role
in implementing reservation policies for backward classes, which transformed
the lives of millions. The members also expressed their commitment to
continuing his legacy by fighting for the implementation of Articles 243D(6)
and 243T(6) in J&K, conducting a door-to-door caste survey in Jammu and
Kashmir, a nationwide caste census, securing political reservation, and
ensuring the full implementation of the Mandal Commission ecommendations.
At the end of the program, all members paid floral tributes to Karpoori Thakur
and pledged to carry forward his mission of equality and justice for all.
