Observers review election preparations in Reasi

Emphasize on free, fair, transparent election process


REASI, SEPTEMBER 07: Saroj Kumar Sethi, General Observers for AC-56 Gulabgarh (ST), and Avi Prasad for AC-57 Reasi & AC-58 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, along with Police Observer, Pradeep Kumar Yadav reviewed the preparations for Assembly Elections in the district.


The Observers emphasised on conducting free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections.


District Election Officer Vishesh Mahajan gave a detailed presentation on District Election Management Plan (DEMP). The Observers enquired about critical aspects of the Election plan going into the details of the arrangements made by the District Election Authority. They also held an extensive interaction with Nodal Officers and issued important instructions to ensure strict implementation of the MCC and.


Furthermore, they emphasised on the importance of training of the Polling Staff, Sector Magistrates and the Zonal Magistrates for smooth conduct of elections. The DEO and SSP were asked to carry out a detailed risk analysis of movement of the polling parties to far off areas and be ready with an emergency response plan.


The Observers were further briefed by SSP Gaurav Sikarwar regarding the security plan and deployment of security personnel for Pre Poll and Poll day.


The Observers highlighted the importance of maintaining utmost professionalism and transparent conduct during the elections. The meeting was attended by ADDC Reasi Sukhdev Samyal, Nodal officer MCC Kulbushan Khajuria and other Nodal Officers of the district.
