“Odisha cannot expect anything good from this double-engine govt”: BJD’s Sasmit Patra slams PM Modi’s 100-day report card
New Delhi [India], September 19 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra on Thursday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 100-day report card as a complete betrayal of the people’s mandate of Odisha and “extremely disappointing.”
Patra added that Odisha cannot expect anything good from this double-engine government.
“These 100 days are nothing but a case of complete betrayal of the people’s mandate of Odisha…These 100 days really show the way that in future also, Odisha cannot expect anything good from this double-engine government,”Patra told ANI.
Patra expressed disappointment that Odisha’s long-standing demand for special category status has been ignored, while states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have received relief packages.
“The 100-day completion of the government here in Delhi and of course, the upcoming in Odisha has been extremely disappointing… Odisha has been demanding for special category status for long. Bihar, Andhra Pradesh had been demanding it. They have received some amount of solace because of the kind of package that they have received. But Odisha, what did it get? Nothing. Are these 100 days actually good? No. This is extremely unfortunate that in the last 100 days, Odisha has not figured in the thought process of either the BJP government in Delhi or the BJP government in Odisha,” Patra told ANI.
On September 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government completed 100 days in office, several actions aimed at reforming the justice system and mitigating disasters, among other measures, were highlighted by sources in the Union government.
Sources in the government said that it has achieved several targets set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year.
Before hitting the campaign trail for 2024 general election, PM had given 100 days task to officials.
Earlier, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, released ‘Paving the Path to Viksit Bharat’, a special booklet, and eight flyers depicting the important achievements of the last 100 days under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
