Says NC Govt committed to youth empowerment

Kathua April 03: Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), asserted that the Omar Abdullah-led government is swiftly delivering on its election promises, ensuring that commitments made to the people during the Assembly elections are being honored in record time.  

He was speaking at a one-day convention organized by Anoop Gupta, Youth Leader and District President Kathua Urban JKYNC. At the beginning of the meeting, Anoop Gupta apprised the senior party functionaries about the hardships being faced by the youth of District Kathua due to the hollow policies of the earlier government. He emphasized the urgent need for concrete measures to address unemployment and ensure better opportunities for the younger generation.

Rattan Lal Gupta highlighted the landmark welfare measures introduced by the NC government within the first five months of its tenure. These include free travel for women in J&K Government buses, 200 free electricity units for AAY households, 10 kg of free ration per person, per month AAY family, waiver of stamp duty for property transfers among blood relatives, and an increase in marriage assistance from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000.  

The Provincial President emphasized that these initiatives reflect the NC’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of J&K’s citizens, particularly the youth and marginalized sections. He said that the Omar government has initiated the process towards providing one lakh jobs, as promised in the party manifesto, by streamlining recruitment procedures, ensuring transparency and prioritizing merit-based selections.

Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, Provincial President of the Youth National Conference (YNC), underscored the NC’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment. He emphasized the party’s continuous efforts in advocating for equal opportunities in political, educational, economic, and social spheres. He called upon the youth to unite and secure strong representation in the upcoming elections, reinforcing the party’s dedication to their progress and leadership in governance.  

Vijay Lochan, Chairman of NC’s SC Cell, reaffirmed the party’s dedication to fulfilling its promises, particularly those aimed at marginalized communities. He highlighted several landmark initiatives that have significantly benefited vulnerable sections across the region. He emphasized that the NC has always prioritized the welfare and empowerment of the underprivileged, and these measures further solidify the party’s commitment to their upliftment.  

Senior NC leaders Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Ajeet Kumar Sharma District President Kathua Urban, Sham Narian Mehta District President Kathua Rural and Mohinder Kumar Rana Joint Secretary Central Zone highlighted the significant contributions of the farming community to J&K’s economy and reiterated the NC government’s commitment to ensuring their welfare. They stressed the importance of farmer-friendly policies and promised that the NC would continue to advocate for their rights and better support mechanisms.  

Addressing the gathering Neelam Sharma Senior leader, Pardeep Kousar and Ashu Rajput welcomed the decision of Omar Abdullah- led government in favor of Women folk and emphasized for empowerment to women.

Earlier, Tejinder Pal Singh Aman nominated Anoop Gupta as the District President Kathua Urban, YNC, after approval from the Provincial President, with the aim of strengthening the party’s organizational structure and enhancing youth participation at the grassroots level.
