OMG 2 actress Geeta Agarwal joins the cast of Yashpal Sharma starrer Dhavak

12th Fail fame Actress Geeta Agarwal to essay a village women from Haryana in Dhavak

Actress Geeta Agarwal, known for her performances in films like “12th Fail,” “Lapata Ladies,” “OMG 2,” “Chhapaak,” “Raid,” “Raabta,” “Fighter,” “All India Rank,” and “Delhi-6,” is set to star in the upcoming film “Dhavak,” produced by Pravesh Gaur and directed by Yogesh Bhardwaj.

Alongside a talented cast including Yashpal Sharma, Jogi Mallang, Malkhan Singh, Sandeep Goyat, and Vishal Dahiya, the film features music composed by Rachita Arora. Geeta recently shared her insights and experiences from working on this project.

Geeta expressed what drew her to the character, stating, “I found the character incredibly compelling. It not only represents Haryana but also embodies the experiences of women from small villages around the world. These women often carry the weight of their families, deeply aware of their surroundings yet silently fulfilling their roles. When the men of the household struggle to manage their responsibilities, it’s the women who step up to care for the home and children, even guiding their husbands in life. Despite their awareness of any wrongdoings, they often refrain from speaking out due to societal norms.”

Reflecting on the script, Geeta recalled, “We were sitting in Inorbit Mall, Mumbai, amidst the chaos when Yogesh began narrating the story to me. I had to ask him to pause several times because I became so emotional that I needed breaks. The dialogues and events he described were based on true stories, making it feel incredibly real. I’ve witnessed similar situations in my own life, and I believe cinema often lacks this level of authenticity. What impressed me the most was that every character held significance; none felt like mere fillers. Each role had purpose and impact, which is why I was eager to join the project.”

Regarding her collaboration with Pravesh Gaur and Yogesh Bhardwaj, Geeta noted, “I had never met Pravesh before; our first encounter was on set. I knew Yogesh from brief encounters in Mumbai, where we occasionally discussed acting. One day, I received a call from Yashpal sir, who told me that Yogesh had written a powerful script and wanted me in a central role. Knowing Yogesh’s reputation for crafting great stories, I invited him to narrate it, and I loved what I heard. That’s how our collaboration began.”

Geeta reflected on her memorable experiences while shooting “Dhavak,” saying, “This was the production house’s first film, and the entire unit worked exceptionally well. Everyone put in their best effort, and the team consisted of passionate young individuals educated from reputable institutes. I was particularly impressed by how the production team was well-versed in the scenes we were shooting and the types of shots required. Their deep involvement was fascinating.

Despite working on a limited budget, we achieved remarkable results, which really lifted everyone’s spirits. One of the highlights of the shooting experience was our trip to Haryana, where I connected with local women to learn about their lifestyles and livelihoods. It was a truly enriching experience, and I came away deeply impressed and educated.”
