One-Day District Level Workshop on Panchayat Plan & MGNREGA Convergence held in Doda
DODA, JULY 12: The Department of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Doda organized a one-day district-level workshop focused on the convergence of the Panchayat Plan and MGNREGA at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Doda.
The event was supervised by Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, and aimed to enhance coordination between these key rural development initiatives to foster holistic development and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in rural areas.
The workshop was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Doda, Pran Singh, who highlighted the pivotal role of convergent Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) in promoting comprehensive rural development. Singh underscored the importance of integrating strategies to maximize the impact of developmental efforts at the grassroots level.
Nida Rafiq, a thematic expert from the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, provided an overview of the process for preparing thematic area-wise GPDPs, addressing key issues, challenges, and strategies essential for their formulation in the Union Territory. She emphasized the crucial role of line departments in facilitating the creation of integrated GPDPs that align with local developmental needs and priorities.
During the workshop, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Doda, Manesh Kumar, presented on the integration of UT-funded schemes with GPDPs and highlighted the administrative department’s role in ensuring seamless implementation and monitoring. The event was attended by various officials, including Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Manoj Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) Musharif Haif, and other stakeholders from the district administration and line departments.
The workshop concluded with a consensus on the imperative need for collaborative efforts and synchronized planning to accelerate rural development outcomes and effectively achieve the SDGs across the region.
