One-day ‘Road Show on Entrepreneurship Development’ held at AAAMDC Bemina

SRINAGAR, August 05: Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College (AAAMDC) Bemina, Cluster University Srinagar in collaboration with Technology Business Incubator, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines (IIIM) Jammu organized a one-day “Road Show on Entrepreneurship Development”, here.

This road show was organized with the aim to sensitize students, scholars, staff, young budding entrepreneurs and startups vis-à-vis various aspects of inventions, innovations, start-ups, and training.

Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Qayum Hussain presided over the event. The Vice-Chancellor in his presidential address, emphasized that the agriculture sector has a large potential to contribute towards the national economy, while at the same time providing direct employment and revenue to the numerically larger and vulnerable section of the society.

Agripreneurship is not only an opportunity, but also a necessity for improving the production and profitability in the agriculture sector, he added.

The experts from CSIR-IIIM Jammu namely Dr. Saurabh Saran, Pr. Scientist, CSIR-IIIM; Er. Ankush Varma, Coordinator/CEO, IIIM-TBI and S. A. Basit, Coordinator, IIIM-AIC Incubator talked threadbare about Entrepreneurship Development programmes and how they aid in better job opportunities, besides help in developing financial planning, which is essential for any entrepreneur to succeed. 

They also threw light on how to start and run a technology-based enterprise successfully by attaining advanced industrial and technical skills. 

Moreover, the role of IIIM-TBI in supporting entrepreneurs, new startups, researchers, students, institutes, scientists, small or medium companies who plan to incubate their ideas or budding technologies into commercially successful ventures was also talked about in detail.

A question answer session was held during the event where students and budding entrepreneurs sought clarifications of their doubts from the team of experts from CSIR-IIIM Jammu vis-à-vis innovations, startups, and entrepreneurship development.

Principal of the host college Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Simnani in his address said that entrepreneurship development programmes are essential in grooming the innovative and entrepreneurial potential and skills of young budding entrepreneurs, and advised the students to approach the concerned institutions/Departments for proper Mentoring and Hand holding.
