One day Training Program with in District under Sub- Mission on Agricultural Extension (SMAE-ATMA) organised at Panchayat Lakhri, Block Nagrota Gujroo

KATHUA, February 02: Team of Officers from Agriculture Department Kathua headed by Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua , organized One day Training Program for farmers, especially women entrepreneurs under Sub Mission on Agriculture Extension  (ATMA) at Panchayat Lakhri , Block Nagrota Gujroo, Kathua where more than 200 women from farming community and mushroom growers participated in the program.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Narayan Dutt Tripathi, DDC Member said,” Agriculture Department Kathua under guidance of Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua has always stood in favour of poor, needy farmers and aspiring entrepreneurs. The training program will benefit the farming community in enhancing their income especially the women farmers and mushroom growers. He also thanked the Department of Agriculture Kathua for organizing such programs at doorsteps of the farming community.”

Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua said,” Department of Agriculture is providing all support, means and ways to farming community for enhancing farm income and such training program always benefits the farmers, motivate young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector whereby participation of Women farmers in large number is truly inspiring for the young entrepreneurs of the area also.” He also emphasized on cultivation of Mushroom in the area and praised Smt Reva Rani of Lakhri about her entrepreneurship in rearing Mushroom in the area involving more than 100 women farmers, simultaneously supporting their families. “

It is pertinent to mention that Smt Reva Rani of Lakhri is working with various self-help groups of the adjoining area by providing them locally made pasteurized compost bags for rearing mushroom. She is also undertaking Beekeeping, dairying as additional business in the area.  Progressive Women Farmers Smt Renu Bala and Smt Urmila Sharma also participated in the training program.

Other participated in the program were Smt.Leela Kumari ,Sarpanch Pyt Lakhri, Sh. Manohar Lal Gupta, Sarpanch, Pyt. Ammuwala, Sh. Baldev  Raj ,Sarpanch Pyt Rajwalta, Sh. Balwan Singh, Sarpanch   Pyt. Kacheer, Sh. Dinesh Kumar, Sarpanch  Pyt Kah, Smt Suman Lata,  Sarpanch Pyt Kandharnoo, other Sarpanches, Panches of the  adjoining Panchayats.

Officers and Officials present were Sh. Ashwani Gupta, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Billawar, Sh. Barinder Gupta, AEO Nagrota Gujroo , and other officials from Agriculture Extension Zone Nagrota Gujroo.
