One-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights held at GDC Kupwara
KUPWARA, March 14: The one-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) was held today March at the Govt Degree College Kupwara in collaboration with the Controller General of Patents, Design & Trademarks, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India.
The workshop was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Research Development Cell, and Innovation Incubation Centre of the college.
The workshop begin with a welcome address from Prof. Irfan Ali, Assistant Professor and Education Coordinator IQAC. He welcomed the participants and provided a brief background on the workshop’s purpose and objectives.
The Principal of Govt Degree College Kupwara, Prof. Mohammad Shafi Lone, presented the special inaugural address. He emphasized on the importance of IPRs in promoting innovation, creativity, and economic growth. He also highlighted the significance of the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) under the Government’s “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative in providing awareness on intellectual property and its rights to students.
The resource person for the workshop was Suman Sil, a Patent Officer and expert in the field of IPR. He shared his knowledge and experience with the participants, providing them with valuable insights into the intricacies of IPRs.
The workshop provided an excellent platform for active discussion and exchange of ideas, enabling the participants to learn about best practices for protecting and managing IPRs.
The workshop was attended by participants from various universities and colleges across India, representing a diverse group of individuals interested in gaining a better understanding of IPRs.
The workshop was a successful and informative learning experience for all the participants, thanks to the efforts of the organizers, resource person, and participants.
The session ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Oyais Ah Chat, Head Department of Chemistry and Convener Research Development Cell GDC Kupwara.
He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the workshop a success and emphasizes that such conferences and workshops are essential in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which recognizes that innovation and creativity are essential for the development of the country, and intellectual property rights play a crucial role in promoting innovation.
