One-day workshop organised on gender sensitization for Anganwadi workers

Leh, December 7, 2024: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti, and the Special Cell for Women, Leh, organized a one-day workshop on gender sensitization for Anganwadi workers. This event, held at the ICDS hall, was a part of a broader awareness campaign aimed at eliminating gender-based violence.

Ms. Kunzang Angmo, the Gender Specialist at DHEW, opened the workshop by briefing the participants on the program’s objectives.

Mr. Aamir Sohail, a social worker from the Special Cell for Women, led the session, focusing on gender roles, stereotypes, and other pertinent issues related to gender sensitization.

The workshop brought together Anganwadi workers from both Upper and Lower Leh. Its primary goal was to promote gender equality and empower women, fostering an environment where women and girls are supported and free from violence and discrimination.
