One killed, 29 injured as bus rams into stationary truck in UP

Barabanki (UP), May 3 (PTI) One person was killed and 29 people were injured when an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus rammed into a stationary truck on the Purvanchal Expressway here on Wednesday, police said.

The incident took place in the Subeha area when the bus was going from Lucknow to Azamgarh.

The bus rammed into the stationary truck, killing its driver Amarjeet (41) on the spot. Twenty-nine of the 38 passengers on board the bus were injured in the incident and admitted to a community health centre, the police said.

Six of the injured, who were seriously injured, were rushed to the trauma centre in Lucknow, they said.
