Only BJP is well wisher, true friend of SCs: Dr Manyal
Jammu, Sept 09: The BJP General Secretary and candidate from Ramgarh Constituency, Devender Manyal, on Monday said that only BJP is the well wisher and true friend of SC community in J&K.
“The SC community in J&K is now living a dignified life and their life has also changed a lot after the abrogation of Article 370,” Manyal said while addressing a press conference, here today.
The SCs remained deprived of their constitutional rights for seventy years, but under Prime Minister Modi’s came to power, they got all their rights in J&K.
He said that the promises made in BJP’s 2024 manifesto, once fulfilled, will further improve the lives of this underprivileged community.
BJP Media Incharge, Dr. Pradeep Mahotra and Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan were also present in the press conference.
Manyal said that the decision taken on August 5, 2019, was historic and true democracy was restored in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370.
He accused the NC, PDP, and Congress for talking about restoration of Article 370. These parties, he said, denied constitutional rights to the weaker sections of society.
He said that Sheikh Abdullah brought the Valmiki community to J&K for sanitation work and for 70 years they were denied all rights.
He said that now their children can aspire to become doctors and engineers because the Modi government has ended the decades-long discrimination they faced.
Dr. Manyal further said that the SC community is now well represented in schools and colleges. In Jammu and Kashmir, there are 14 medical colleges, including AIIMS, where the SC community is receiving its rightful share in jobs, he said.
He hailed the granting of rights to West Pakistani refugees as a historic step, explaining that this community lived in deprivation in their own country but now, after the abrogation of Article 370, they have benefitted the most.
He mentioned several government schemes like the Ayushman Card, PMAY, and the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which are benefiting a large section of the SC community.
Referring to the issue of SC employees posted in Kashmir, he outlined a comprehensive plan in the manifesto to transfer them to their home districts.
