Opposition’s Bengaluru meet reminds of idiom ‘Kahin Ki Eent Kahin Ka Roda, Bhanumati Ne Kunba Joda’: Kavinder
‘With ideology poles apart, opposition’s unity dream to remain short-lived’
JAMMU, July 12: A Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday said that Bengaluru meeting by the opposition parties scheduled to be held on July 17 and 18 reminds everyone in the country of famous adage ‘Kahin Ki Eent Kahin Ka Roda, Bhanumati Ne Kunba Joda’, because the entities coming together have nothing in common and so many times in the past they have fallen apart due to ideological differences.
It is pertinent to mention that the opposition is grouping to take on the BJP in the next Lok Sabha polls. It is set to expand with more parties joining in at the second unity meeting being convened by the Congress next week in Bengaluru. Leaders of 24 non-BJP parties have been invited for the meet on June 17 and 18, the first edition of which saw the participation of 15 parties.
In a statement issued to media persons, Kavinder termed the meeting as a botched attempt to make impossible possible. He said that the differences between the opposition parties which are supposed to meet in Bengaluru are full of big gaps and wedges thus making it impossible to have a long lasting friendship.
The senior BJP leader said that the plans and proposals coming out of the meetings being envisaged by the opposition parties would all be short-lived and there are chances that these meetings will lead to more conflicts and confrontations before the poll time as seat sharing among outfits of different textures is a herculean task and therefore outcome of these ‘friendly’ meetings of ‘conventional foes’ is anybody’s guess.
