Over Rs 4.42 Crore disbursed to registered construction workers in Baramulla
BARAMULLA, MARCH 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today released financial assistance of Rs. 4,42,72,100 in favor of the wards of 8,593 registered construction workers under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCWWB) schemes.
The financial assistance covers multiple components, including death and funeral assistance, as well as educational support. The initiative aims to provide financial stability and social security to construction workers and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC commended the Labour Department’s efforts in reaching out to economically disadvantaged laborers. He emphasized the need to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under government welfare schemes, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to improving the economic well-being of the labor class.
He reiterated that strengthening the social and economic foundation of the labor force remains a key priority for the district administration.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Baramulla, Rahil Amin highlighted the core objectives of the BOCWWB schemes, stating that the financial support aims to ease the financial burden on registered workers and enhance their economic security.
