Overwhelming participation in Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign witnessed across Bandipora
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 01: Displaying spirit towards cleanliness, lacs of people from all walks of life Sunday came together in district Bandipora to participate in the “Ek Tareekh Ek Gahanta Ek Saath” event, organized as part of the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign.
‘Ek Tareekh Ek Gahanta Ek Saath’, a special event was designed to rally people for a collective effort in cleaning their surroundings to promote cleanliness ahead of Ghandhi Jayanti Celebrations under Swachtwa Campaign. People numbering in the lakhs, from school children to senior citizens, took part in the campaign.
ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan presided over the cleanliness drive at MC Hajin wherein Chairman MC Hajin Irshad Ahmad Wani beisides thousands of people participated in the event. Nodal Officer Coordination/ACD Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, accompanied by ARTO/DIO Bandipora Bilal Ahmad Mir, AD Food Bilal Ahmad and others presided over the cleanliness event at MC Sumbal.
As a part of ‘Ek Ghanta Ek Tareekh Ek Saath’, people from different walks and age groups gathered at Mini Secretariat Bandipora wherein a mega cleanliness drive was held. ACR Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad, DTO Bandipora Mohammad Rafiq, and other senior officers of district administration participated in the drive.
As many as 5000 different activities were held across the district. On the occasion, Swachtwa Pledge was held to keep the environment neat and clean. Plege for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was also held on the occasion.
The event witnessed cleanup activities conducted in all the three sub divisions of district Bandipora viz; Bandipora, Sumbal and Gurez wherein a wide range of locations, including offices, parks, main roads, streets, and public spaces, making impact on the overall cleanliness of the district.
In addition to all the three Sub Divisions of district Bandipora, the drives were held in all the Municipal Councils/Committees besides health Institutions, schools and colleges, government offices, residential houses.
During the one hour long cleanliness drive, water bodies, tourist destinations were cleaned.
A massive cleanliness drive was also held in district court complex Bandipora wherein officials of judiciary and common people gathered to participate in Swachtwa Campaign.
Alongside the cleanup drive, awareness regarding the importance of cleanliness and sustainable waste management was also raised.
The Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign continues to serve as a powerful catalyst, inspiring and mobilizing people across India to collaborate for a cleaner and healthier environment.
