Owing her wellbeing to PMJAY, Koushalya recounts her survival journey during VSBY at Samba
SAMBA, DECEMBER 30: In the midst of the vibrant Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Samba, a compelling story of survival and resilience took center stage—the inspiring journey of Koushalya Devi. Faced with abdominal pain, Koushalya sought medical attention at DH Samba, where a diagnosis of Cholelithiasis revealed the need for surgery. Initially, the family hesitated due to concerns about treatment costs.
Koushalya Devi, a housewife from Vijaypur, Samba, grapples with financial challenges as her husband, Jia Lal, serves as the sole breadwinner with an average monthly income below Rs 4000. Supporting a family of six, including school-going children, proves to be a formidable task, heavily reliant on her husband’s salary.
Thanks to the PMJAY scheme, the surgery was successfully performed without imposing any financial burden on the family. Expressing gratitude for the government’s commitment to providing free healthcare for all citizens, particularly those facing financial hardships, Koushalya’s heartfelt thanks underscore the significance of an accessible and supportive healthcare system.
Koushalya’s success story stands as a beacon amid the fervor of the yatra, symbolizing progress and the transformative impact of inclusive policies.
