P. G. Department of Commerce, University of Jammu continued with the 3rd lecture under Industry Academia Linkage Lecture Series on the theme “An Overview of Banking Industry in J&K”

Jammu, August 25: P.G. Department of Commerce, University of Jammu organized the third lecture in its ongoing Industry Academia Linkage Series. The lecture, titled “Overview of the Banking Industry in Jammu & Kashmir,” was held on 25th August, 2023 at Seminar Hall for the students of M.Com. This session marked another significant step in the department’s efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The Industry Academia Linkage Series has been designed to facilitate meaningful interactions between students, faculty members and industry experts. By bringing together academic knowledge and practical industry insights, the series aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of various sectors and their evolving trends.

CA Padma Mishra, Senior Manager, Zonal Office Jammu, J & K Bank Ltd. was formally welcomed by Dr. Deepti Abrol, the Co-ordinator of the event, where she welcomed the worthy Guest Speaker.Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Head of Department, presented a planter as token of respect to the invited guest.

In this lecture, participants had the privilege of gaining insights into the Banking Industry in Jammu & Kashmir. Esteemed speaker from the banking sector shared her expertise, discussing the unique dynamics of the region’s banking landscape. Key topics covered included challenges, opportunities and the industry’s crucial role in contributing to the economic growth of the state.The event garnered enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, showcasing the genuine interest in gaining deeper insights into the local banking industry. Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions with the speaker, raising pertinent questions and enriching their understanding of the subject matter. Later, formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Head of the Department along with a token of appreciation.
