Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. College for Women organises Poster-Making Competition on“Say No to Tobacco”
JAMMU, May 18: Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee, in collaboration with Department of Commerce of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, organised a Poster-Making Competition on the theme “Say No to Tobacco”.
The Programme was held under the patronage of Principal Prof.Minu Mahajan. She laid emphasis on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and discouraged the use of tobacco. Total 16 students participated and created colourful posters to spread awareness regarding no use of tobacco. The posters depicting consequences of tobacco consumption and drug abuse prevention were showcased beautifully by the students. Prof Mamta Gupta, HOD Commerce encouraged the participants to employ their artistic talents, innovative ideas and persuasive communication skills to design posters that inspire individuals to adopt a tobacco-free lifestyle.
Prof.Rashmi Kumari, Convener of NMBA appreciated the students’ efforts. She added that tobacco consumption continues to be a global public health concern, causing numerous diseases and posing a significant risk to individual’s wellbeing. Recognising the importance of education and advocacy, the committee has taken initiative to address this critical issue through the power of art and expression.
All posters were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges; Prof. Bindu Sharma, Prof Mamta Gupta and Prof .Rajni Kumari. The first position was bagged by Tanvi second position by Sanvi Gupta and third position bagged by Rasleen kaur, Sneha Gupta and Mehak Pawar. Whole event was conducted with the support of Prof.Mamta Kundal, Prof Paramjeet Singh, Prof.Swarn Singh, Prof.Sunita and Dr. Deepti Abrol.
