Parliamentary Committee visiting J&K will provide huge opportunity to people to interact and give their ideas for sustained peace: Girdhari Lal Raina

Jammu April 21: Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Home Affairs is arriving on a six-day visit to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with effect from April 26 to May 1, 2025.

The mandate of this panel as reported is to critically evaluate domestic policy, internal security and decision-making of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

BJP welcomes the visit and hopes that the panel will visit affected areas and meet people at large to understand the ground reality, stated Girdhari Lal Raina.

Girdhari Lal Raina, Spokesperson, J&K BJP & former MLC, accompanied by Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP was addressing a Press Conference at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

In wake of the recent terrorist attacks in the Kathua region of Jammu Division and the tragic loss of our brave security personnel it is necessary to rethink our approach and counter strategy. The evolving nature of terrorism in the region demands a deeper strategic reorientation.

The Enemy is using calculated strategies to provoke reactions that lead us into disadvantageous terrain.

Narco-terrorists network and sensitive background of Overground Workers is adding to terrorists’ strength.

Terrorists have sufficient knowledge of the geography and they move quickly to higher reaches and wait.

The movement of troops gets delayed due SOP that involves planning, intelligence validation, and logistical readiness. These steps, while essential, provide terrorists ample time to prepare ambushes and escape routes.

Weapons recovered from recent encounters clearly indicate the presence of highly trained militants-often using sophisticated weapons and M4 carbines. These are not untrained/half trained insurgents but operatives trained by the Pakistani military or intelligence agencies.

Nationalist population though high on spirit are ill equipped to deal with the situation.

Their concerns need to be heard and addressed.

BJP understands that political leadership is capable of handling the situation but we believe that confidence of people can further strengthen with direct communication with them.

We, therefore demand that the parliamentary panel must visit these areas and interact with the people to get the feedback that can prove valuable in our fight against terrorism and separatism.

Parliamentary panel having members from different political parties will send a strong signal of unity across.

Government of Jammu and Kashmir must facilitate meeting of public, particularly sections of population like Displaced Community from POJK and Kashmir and VDGs and other local representatives like DDCs.
