Pawan Sharma praised PM Modi’s commitment to farmer welfare and sustainable agriculture in J&K

Jammu 16 April: Pawan Sharma, Senior Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former State Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, delivered remarks at the inaugural ceremony of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar in Sohagni, Tehsil Marh in Jammu, today, in the gracious presence of Sukhnandan Choudhary, former Minister in J&K Govt and Dr. Parmendra Singh, Prof. Department of Agronomy, SKUAST Jammu. This initiative aims to provide vital services and support to the local agricultural community, aligning with the Narendra Modi government’s commitment to agricultural development and farmer welfare.

Sharma stated that the Central Government’s initiative to establish around 2000 Kisan Khidmat Ghar across Jammu and Kashmir is a welcome step, providing subsidies and digital services to farmers. This initiative is an important step to take the government’s Digital India Mission to the rural level. This initiative is being run under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), which is a big step towards strengthening rural agriculture in partnership with the Lieutenant Governor Administration and the Central Government.

In their address, Sukhnandan Choudhary and Dr. Parmendra Singh offered congratulations to Kajal Choudhary, a krishi udyami, and Sunil Choudhary, Program Convenor of Kisan Khidmat Ghar, as well as all local farmers, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar at Sohagni, Tehsil Marh in Jammu district.

Sunil Choudhary, Program Convenor, while providing a detailed briefing, stated that the Kisan Khidmat Ghar in Sohagni, Tehsil Marh, will serve as a one-stop solution for agriculture and allied sectors, offering a comprehensive range of services to farmers at the Panchayat level. Farmers will be able to obtain seeds at subsidized rates under HADP at Kisan Khidmat Ghar and receive agricultural advice. Additionally, registration facilities will be available for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Assistance will also be provided in applying for documents such as passports, PAN cards, and electricity-water bill payments. Furthermore, facilities for ration cards, photo printing, and other online services will be accessible. This initiative represents a significant effort towards advancing the government’s Digital India Mission to the grassroots level and empowering youth to become self-reliant.

The government plans to set up more such centres in the coming times, which will bring a revolutionary change in the rural areas. This centre will not only increase the reach of services but will also open new doors of employment and entrepreneurship for the local youth.
