Pawan Sharma welcomed the statement of DGP JKP regarding strengthening VDGs in Jammu-Kashmir

Jammu Aug 13: Sr leader BJP J&K and Prabhari District Doda Pawan Sharma has welcomed the statement of DGP JKP regarding strengthening of VDGs in Jammu-Kashmir. In which he has announced that the services of VDGs will be utilized in collaboration with BSF in border areas.

Sharma appealed to LG administration to enhance the honorarium of VDGs and also create new groups in insurgency effected areas of J&K. Youth of terrorism prone and vulnerable areas should be trained with automatic and sophisticated weapons. Out dated 303 rifles should be phased out and replaced by AK 47, 56, SLR, Insas etc.

It’s pertinent to mention here that VDGs formerly known as Village Defence Committees played a pivotal role in eliminating terrorism in J&K particularly in erstwhile District Doda. Now with the passage of time challenges have increased manifold. Terrorists are equipped with highly sophisticated and modern weapons and using advanced technology, they are having M4 carbine and other high-tech weapons.

So, need of the hour is that all VDGs existing and new should be fully trained to fight with all type of modern weapons, techniques of present age warfare and guerilla warfare.
