Peddler held with 18 Kg poppy straw in Jammu’s Nowabad

JAMMU, February 18: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 18 kilograms of poppy straw during hotel checking in the area under the jurisdictions of PS Nowabad.

Police team of PS Nowabad led by DySP Hqrs Dr Sunniya Wani assisted by SHO PS Nowabad Inspector Vijay Kumar during hotel checking rounded up one suspect who was staying in hotel Jammu view room no 105 namely:- Gurvinder Singh S/o kuldeep Singh R/o Jalandhar.

On search, 18 kg Poppy straw was recovered from his possession.

In this regard cognizance taken and Fir got registered in PS Nowabad and accused got arrested.

Further investigation of the cases is going on.
