“People of Bengal rejecting BJP due to their cheap politics”: TMC leader Kunal Ghosh
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 30 (ANI): Targeting the BJP, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh said that the people of West Bengal are supporting Mamata Banerjee and rejecting the BJP for their cheap politics.
“Bengal is ok; the state is moving towards development. The people of Bengal are supporting Mamata Banerjee, TMC and they are rejecting BJP. For their cheap politics, they are depriving Bengal, misusing the powers of Central agencies. They are trying to create confusion regarding the state,” Ghosh said.
Earlier, West Bengal BJP Chief and MP Sukanta Majumdar on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his party’s Members of Parliament from West Bengal and advised them to serve the people of Bengal and contribute to realizing the vision of Sonar Bangla.
According to the sources, PM Modi told MPs that the people of West Bengal have accepted the BJP and instructed them to stay active for the upcoming assembly elections in the state and serve the people of the state.
PM Modi also held separate one-to-one meetings with party leaders Sukanta Majumdar and Suvendu Adhikari and discussed ways to further the reach out to the people of the state and make them aware of the central schemes.
PM Modi further applauded every worker of the party and reiterated to build a better future for West Bengal.
Taking it to a social media post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Met Shri Suvendu Adhikari Ji and Dr. Sukanta Majumdar Ji. We discussed ways to further spread our good governance agenda among the people. I applaud each and every @BJP4Bengal Karyakarta for their courage, passion and spirited fight against TMC misrule. Together, we all will build a better future for West Bengal. @SuvenduWB @DrSukantaBJP.”
On the other hand, Congress leader Isha Khan Choudhary, in his meeting with Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Monday, said that discussions were done on how to strengthen the Congress party in West Bengal.
Currently, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is the President of Congress in West Bengal and it is speculative that there might be changes in the role after he lost the Baharampur constituency in Lok Sabha 2024.
Isha Khan Chowdhury is the only Congress Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal who won from the Malda-South constituency this year.
