People rejected misleading, false propaganda of BJP in J&K: Rattan Lal

NC fully committed to fulfill Election promises

JAMMU, Jan 2: In a scathing attack on the BJP, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has lambasted the saffron party for raising unwarranted objections to the promises made by the National Conference (NC) to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He labeled BJP’s rhetoric as baseless and accused its leadership of attempting to mislead and misguide the public while failing to deliver during its decade-long rule in the region.

The senior NC leader was speaking while interacting with senior functionaries of the Party regarding the present political scenario of J&K at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.

The senior NC leader asked the BJP leadership to clarify their achievements for the people of Jammu and Kashmir over their long tenure in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Instead of pointing fingers at the NC, the BJP should come clean about what it has accomplished in J&K. Why has the BJP compromised with the job and land rights of the people of this region? It is unjustified that jobs, land, and contracts belonging to J&K have been handed over to outsiders, leaving the youth and local workforce neglected and disillusioned,” he added.

He criticized the BJP for its governance failures, stating that Jammu and Kashmir reached the number one position in unemployment during the it’s rule in J&K. “The BJP must take responsibility for this grim reality and explain to the people why their policies have pushed J&K’s youth into despair,” he remarked.

Rattan Lal added that the BJP’s misplaced priorities and inability to safeguard the interests of J&K’s people have exposed its incompetence and lack of commitment. “The BJP’s hollow promises and misleading propaganda cannot mask the reality of its failures. The people of J&K deserve better, and the National Conference is determined to restore their trust and rights,” he asserted.

He highlighted that NC, having recently taken charge of the J&K government, boasts a robust leadership led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is personally monitoring key issues, including water and power shortages, welfare policies and addressing concerns of Kashmiri migrants. “In contrast, the BJP’s dismal performance in the Assembly polls and its inability to win seats in the Valley reflect the rejection it has faced from the people,” he added.

Rattan Lal Gupta took a jibe at the BJP’s claims of being champions of the people, stating that such lofty assertions are hollow and unbecoming of a party that failed to even secure substantial support in Kashmir. “Even in Jammu, the BJP has been shown the door, as the NC emerged as the second-largest party. The BJP should stop its daydreaming and accept the reality that J&K has turned its back on them,” he asserted.

He accused the BJP of being a stumbling block to the NC-led government’s functioning and emphasized that the party’s interference is nothing but an attempt to cover up its own inadequacies. “The BJP is scared because, in just one year, NC will outperform the BJP’s 10-year rule in J&K. The people trust NC’s vision and leadership, as evidenced by our growing support across the region,” he said.

The Provincial President asserted that even today Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also ensured free 200 units of electricity for people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the NC Govt has already initiated several measures to fulfil the commitments made with the people.

Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed NC’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made during its election campaign. “Unlike the BJP, which thrives on creating chaos and division, the NC is focused on addressing the pressing issues faced by the people. With CM Omar Abdullah leading from the front, we are determined to resolve long-standing grievances and bring prosperity to J&K,” he declared.

The Provincial President asked the J&K BJP leadership to stop its propaganda and allow the NC government to work for the welfare of the people. “BJP’s antics are only exposing its desperation and incompetence. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve better, and NC is here to deliver,” he said.
