“People’s love is my wealth”says Nitin Gadkari as campaign for Nagpur comes to a close
Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], April 17 (ANI): With just a day to go before his campaign for the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat ends, Union Minister Nitin of Road Transport & Highways Gadkari on Tuesday released his “Vachan Nama” (manifesto). Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said that the love he had received from people is due to the work done by him and the love he receives from people is his wealth.
Nitin Gadkari said, “…The love I have received from people is for the work I have done. On the day of Eid, I went to Mominpura to extend my wishes. I went there at 12 in the night and within 5-10 minutes, 3000 to 4000 people came… People’s love is my wealth…”
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Gadkari, without taking the name, said that a rival from the opposition party is campaigning against him and that he saved that rival from going to jail. “A rival from Congress campaigning against me, was about to go to jail. I saved him. Now, he is leading the campaign against me…I have no problem,” the Union Minister said.
While releasing the manifesto in Nagpur, the Union Minister also spoke about tourism and hailed the city as a Tiger capital. He said, “There is a big potential in tourism. People come here for Tigers… It is a Tiger capital. And for that, we have developed Ambhora… We made a cable bridge in Ambhora… There is a light and sound show for around 400 people. There is a facility for water sports and adventure sports… We are making Ambhora very beautiful… A lot of work is being done.”
The leader also mentioned the improved water supply system in the city and assured that Nagpur, by 2070, will not face any water problems.
The BJP leader also spoke about his development agenda for Nagpur and said that he would try to make the city “pollution-free” and transform it into a green city. “The all-round development of Nagpur Vidarbha has been the initial resolution of my political life. I will be working on tourism, IT industry, development of MIHAN… and most importantly, to make Nagpur city free from air and noise pollution and try to make it a green city,” Gadkari said.
Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats and elections to the 48 seats in the state will be held in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.
