Phase Ist of B2V-5 commences at Bandipora, Villages wear festive look
VOs review functioning of departments; interact with people, PRIs
BANDIPORA, November 08: The phase fifth of ambitious “Back to Village (B2V-5) programme of government of Jammu and Kashmir started today across Bandipora with much fanfare.
As many as 50 Gram Panchayats of the district were visited by Visiting Officers (VOs) deputed by district administration Bandipora.
The ‘Back to Village 5’ is scheduled to be conducted in three phases from November 08 to November 14, 2023
Early morning, the visiting officers reported at their respective Panchayats and held interactions with the locals while the locals apprised them about their grievances, projected public demands and village needs.
Later the officers visited several government offices in the villages including schools, healthcare centres, Anganwadi centres, besides other offices and took stock of the services being provided to the public.
They also inspected the ongoing works including Amrit Sarovar sites, JJM works and took stock of other developmental activities.
Sports activities, cultural activities, distribution under public welfare schemes and employment generation schemes were conducted, Sports kits, Land passbooks, kits to women beneficiaries were provided by the visiting officers.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Umar Shafi, visited the panchayats of Onagam, Panzigam and Aragam, ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad visited panchayats of Naidkhai to take part in the activities being organised in these panchayats. Similarly other panchayats were also abuzz with different activities.
The visiting officers will be interacting with the people at Panchayat level during their two day stay and take a firsthand account of the issues and problems of the people besides assessing the village development needs and will submit a detailed report to the district administration along with the detailed report for the grievances/ issues and their redressal.
In the similar way, public outreach camps were organized in designated villages of subdivision Sumbal and Gurez where visiting officers under B2V5 interacted with the local people under the overall supervision of Sub divisional Magistrates.
