Pir Panjal region witnessing worst ever scenario, LG must address the issue on priority: Ajaz Jan

Demands immediate regularization of Daily Wagers

POONCH, December 24: Ajaz Jan, Provincial President Youth National Conference Jammu and senior NC leader has expressed serious concern over unprecedented long duration power cuts across the Pir Panjal region thus making the life of the people miserable in the harsh winter conditions.

In a statement issued to media here today, Ajaz Jan said that the whole Pir Panjal region has never witnessed such worst power scenario as is being experienced today. He said that people of this region are fed up of the 12 to 18 hours power cuts in a day and it would not be wrong to state that people crave for a glimpse of glowing electric lights. With the power nowhere available for hours together, when by chance the power supply gets restored for a few minutes or an hour, the voltage fluctuation leaves the supply redundant.

The senior National Conference leader said that people’s sufferings have increased manifold in absence of popular or duly elected representative Govt in Jammu and Kashmir and it is an irony that there are no takers of people’s basic issues in the Administration. He demanded that the J&K Union Territory Govt should initiate immediate measures to provide regular power supply to people especially during the ongoing harsh winter conditions in the Pir Panjal region.

Meanwhile, Ajaz Jan also raised serious concern over the problems being faced by daily wagers across the state protesting on roads for their regularization. He lamented that the government has been most unjust to the said daily wagers who have worked devotedly for the administration for years together and have been deprived of the benefits given to the regular employees for the same work. He made a fervent appeal to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to immediately pay heed to the multiple issues confronted by the people and resolve the same at the earliest. He urged the LG to address the issue of long power curtailments and that of regularization of the daily wagers on utmost priority.
