Placement cell University of Jammu organises Placement drive
JAMMU, November 09: Placement cell, University of Jammu, is striving hard for developing liaisons with the potentially recruiting companies/corporate houses/industries, under the patronage of the Hon’ble Honourable Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, for placement of the students of University. An off-campus placement drive for the class 2021-23 of Microbiology and Biotechnology students of Jammu University was organized on 6th Sept’ 2023. A food/beverage based company M/s NJ Food Products Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi, selected eight students from Microbiology/Biotechnology program of School of Biotechnology for the post of trainee microbiologists for their Samba food/beverage plant.
Previously, an on-campus placement drive was organized by the Cell in which a team of experts from an Academic Organization namely Guru Nanak Institute, Hyderabad, visited the campus, and conducted interviews on Sep 11, 2023 in the Seminar Hall of School of Biotechnology, for recruitment of faculty positions for several Departments e.g. Department of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Computer Science. Guru Nanak Institute has recruited several of our students. Also another Hyderabad based company Triumph Physical Education (Triumphpe) offered to recruit Physical Education Trainers, from University’s Department of Physical Education. The University is gradually witnessing growth of companies which are interested in recruiting students of University of Jammu. With the introduction of skill and value based learning programmes in the course curricula of various Departments of the University has not only equipped our students with special skills, knowledge and capability but ensured enhanced opportunities, and preferred choice for bigger and better roles in the industries/corporate houses.
Placement cell is developing and strengthening relationships with potential recruiters across the Nation so that University can provide the industry with the best talent pool from this region of the country. Placement cell is grateful to the recruiters who showed interest and confidence in students of Jammu University.
The placement drive was coordinated by Prof B K Bajaj, Dean Student’s Placement, Ms Shilpa Chaku, Training & Placement Officer, and Dr Ritu Mahajan, Placement Coordinator, School of Biotechnology.
