Plantation drive carried out at Agling

Leh, Mar 30, 2024: The Department of Horticulture,Leh carried out a plantation drive at Horticulture Garden, Agling today on March 30.

The objective of the plantation drive was to make the farmers aware regarding the importance of fruit plantation and to increase the area under horticulture crops which ultimately play a pivotal role to enhance the economy of the farming community.

It was informed that different varieties of fruit saplings such as apple, pear, peach, plum and cherry were planted at the site.

Further, it was informed that the drive was inaugurated by Director, Horticulture Department, UT Ladakh, Tsewang Phunchok in the presence of Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh, Ali Raza. 

Officers and officials of the department were also present.
