PM Modi criticizes Congress handling of Kashmir issue, Commends Indian Army’s surgical strike during Lok Sabha debate
In a fiery Lok Sabha Address, Prime Minister Modi defends Government’s approach to tackling terrorism
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a forceful response during a recent debate on a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, criticizing the Congress party’s handling of the Kashmir issue and highlighting the Indian Army’s surgical strike on terror.
Addressing the members of the Parliament, Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of mishandling the situation in Kashmir, leading to unrest and instability in the region.
He pointed out that during Congress’s tenure, Kashmir faced turmoil as a result of terrorism and separatist sentiments. “Kashmir was burning due to terrorism. Congress didn’t trust people of Kashmir, but they trusted Hurriyat, separatists, and those who used to carry Pakistan’s flag,” remarked PM Modi.
The Prime Minister underlined his government’s approach to addressing the issue, emphasizing the trust placed in the Indian Army. “India conducted surgical strike on terror, they didn’t trust the Indian Army,” he stated.
The surgical strike he referred to took place in September 2016, when Indian forces conducted a cross-border operation targeting terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
