PM Modi interacts with teachers honoured with National Awards
New Delhi [India], September 6 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with teachers who were conferred with the National Teachers Awards on Teachers’ Day.
During his interaction, PM Modi discussed the impact of New Education Policy (NEP) and spoke about teacher’s responsibility to prepare today’s youth for Viksit Bharat.
According to the press release, PM Modi said that the responsibility of preparing today’s youth for Viksit Bharat rests in the hands of teachers.
PM discussed the significance of attaining education in one’s mother tongue.
PM also suggested teachers teach local folklore to students in different languages to help them get introduced to different languages, the press release stated.
PM encouraged teachers to take students on educational tours to explore India’s diversity.
Teachers also shared their experience with PM Modi and innovative techniques adopted by them to make learning more interesting, a press release stated.
82 teachers from across the country were conferred with the award by President Droupadi Murmu on September 5.
Addressing the gathering, the President said that teachers have to prepare such citizens who are not only educated but also sensitive, honest and enterprising. She stated that moving ahead in life is success, but the meaning of life lies in working for the welfare of others.
“We should have compassion. Our conduct should be ethical. A successful life lies in the meaningful life. Teaching these values to the students is the duty of teachers,” President Murmu said.
President Murmu, further asserted that teachers play the most important role in the success of any education system.
“Teaching is not just a job. It is a sacred mission of human development. If a child is not able to perform well, then the education system and teachers have a bigger responsibility,” she added.
