PMFME workshop/ awareness camp held in Kathua

KATHUA, JULY 18: Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing (PM-FME) scheme awareness workshop was organized by Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing (Nodal Department- PMFME) Kathua at Community Centre, Kharote (Kathua).


The workshop was attended by Mohan Singh ex- Sarpanch, Area Marketing Officer, Kathua, AGMO Kathua besides GMIS and other officials of the department.


Lead Bank Manager Kathua, District Resource Person PMFME Kathua also attended the workshop. Ramesh Chander Sharma (DRP) briefed the audience about features of the Scheme, its scope and benefits.


Rajeev Sharma GMI Kathua briefed about scope of Food Processing Industry in District Kathua and people were encouraged to avail maximum benefits under the Scheme, where handholding will be provided by all the concerned.


The programme witnessed large participation and several interested participants were covered under the PMFME Scheme on spot. AMO Kathua briefed participants about the scope of Micro food processing industry for providing employment to unemployed youth, SHG members and also for value addition of farmers’ produce.


LDM Kathua briefed the audience about the various benefits of Food processing under the Aegis of PMFME. Mohan Singh, ex- Sarpanch from Kharote appreciated efforts being put in by the government to make the public aware about various government schemes through a number of outreach programs. He exhorted the public to take benefit of the PMFME scheme to become self-sufficient and also to give employment to others.
