Police arrest drug peddler in Baramulla; 70 grams of contraband seized
In a continuing effort to curb the drug menace in the region, Baramulla police arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized contraband substances from his possession during a routine check at a checkpoint established in Noorkhah Bijhama.

The arrest was made by a police party headed by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bijhama police station. The man was intercepted during a routine search. Upon searching him, the police recovered approximately 70 grams of a substance suspected to be charas.
He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at PS Bijhama. A case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
