Poonch Campus and Department of District Employment & Counseling Centre Poonch organized awareness programme for students
Poonch June 13 : In order to aware the Students about the Various employment Schemes started by the Department of Employment UT Jammu and Kashmir, Poonch Campus today organized special interactive session/awareness programme for the Students of Department of Sericulture.
The event was organized in the collaboration District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch. The aim behind this awareness programme was to educate the students on how to create employment opportunities in the Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus. All the teaching, non teaching faculty and students of the Department of Sericulture participated in the event.
Deputy Director District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch Mohd Rafiq was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid Director Poonch Campus in his message thanked the Deputy Director District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch Mohd Rafiq and the officials of DECC. He also Congratulated the faculty of Poonch Campus and Students. He mentioned in his message that it will outlined the JK Government’s commitment towards creating employment avenues for youth in a transparent and fair manner.
He also added that such awareness programme will encourage the passout batches to take part in these activities and start their own venture. He also praised the faculty members for the initiative and directed the faculty members to organize more such events on a regular basis.
Deputy Director Mohammad Rafiq while speaking on the occasion said that aims and objectives of the awareness programme was to aware the Students about the Various employment Schemes started by the Department of Employment UT Jammu and Kashmir. He said that other deliverables/activities of the department such as Registration, Survey of unemployed youth and implementation of various self employment schemes of Mission Youth (Mumkin, Tejaswini, Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiatives).
Deputy Director emphasized on registration of unemployed youth on Jk employment portal (jakemp.nic.in) & NCS portal (ncs.gov.in) for availing the benefits of various employment related opportunities. Besides this, he laid stress on the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of self employment schemes to become job providers rather than the job seekers.
Young Professional Employment Officer Mr. Harman Singh encouraged the students and students to register on the employment portal integrated with the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
Dr. Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer Poonch Campus, in her welcome address appraised the efforts of Deputy Director District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch Mohd Rafiq. “I on the behalf of Director Poonch Campus Prof Rakesh Vaid thanked Director Employment Jammu and Kashmir. It’s really an honour to have you here with us” She further said that it will be beneficial for the students of Poonch Campus to interact with Deputy Director District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch Mohd Rafiq,” She added.
She said that the Department of Employment & Counselling is playing an important role to guide the unemployed youth to start their own startups to emerge as an leading Entrepreneurs.
The awareness Programme was attended by Faculty members Dr Rubia Bukhari, Dr Suraksha Chanotra, Dr Muzafar Ahmad Bhat, Miss Kalpna Sudan, Miss Sumya Kapoor, Non teaching Staff of Poonch Campus, and students of 4th Semester and 2nd Semester of the Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus and officials of DECC Poonch.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Miss Sparshika Basotra and Mr. Ajay Sadotra Students of the Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus.
