Post offices to launch ‘Maha Mela’ for account opening drive
LEH, February 15: Post offices to launch ‘Maha Mela’ for account opening drive in various Post Office Savings Bank Schemes from Feb 20 to Feb 24.
Ladakh Postal Division has a network of 109 Post Offices spread across Leh and Kargil Districts. Under Post Office Savings Bank schemes, Post Offices provide Savings Account (SB); Recurring Deposits (RD); Time Deposit (Fixed Deposits); Monthly Income Scheme (MIS); Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS); Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA); Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP); National Savings Scheme (NSC); Public Provident Fund (PPF) schemes having attractive interest rates.
During the drive, the Department of Posts is launching ‘Maha Mela’ for account opening drives in all post offices across the nation.
All citizens of UT Ladakh are requested to get their accounts opened during this Maha Mela at the nearest Post Office and reap the attractive interest benefits offered by the Department.
Post Office is one of the oldest organizations in India, initially focusing only on delivering mail but now, it is providing an array of other financial services i.e. banking, insurance, and mail services.
Post Office Savings Bank Schemes include several reliable products and offer risk-free returns on investment. Around 1.54 lac Post Offices spread all over the country operate these schemes. The biggest advantage of these schemes is their sovereign guarantee i.e. it is backed by the Government of India.
