Poster making cum poetry recitation competition held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR September 13: To promote National language among the students as well as general masses, the Department of Hindi in collaboration with Literary Club and Swachta Action Plan (SAP) Club, Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organised a poster making cum poetry recitation competition at college campus under Hindi Pakhwada, here today.

Principal of the host College, Prof. Anjali Mahajan was the chief guest on the occasion.

The event was organised under the convenorship of Dr. Mool Raj (Convenor Literary Club), Dr. Kewal Kumar (Convenor SAP Club) and Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad (HOD Hindi).

The theme of the poster making cum poetry recitation was ‘Hindi Bhasha aur Shikshak ka Samband’.

In poster making competition about 19 students participated and made beautiful posters on the given theme. 

In poetry recitation competition about 16 students participated and expressed their views on the given theme.  Dr. Mool Raj, HOD Urdu, Prof, Pooja Bharti, HOD Geography and Prof. Yash Kumar, Department of Music were the jury members. On the basis of judgement of jury members, Diksha Mahajan  of Sem-V, Shivani Sharma  of Sem-V and Ritika of Sem -V  were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the poster making competition while Shallu of Sem-V, Sanjeeta Devi of Sem-V and Manvi Chanyal of Sem-V got 1st, 2nd  and 3rd position respectively in poetry recitation competition.

The Principal congratulated and also appreciated the efforts of oragnizers. She said that such activities are need of hour in educational institutions and students should actively participate and should spread the message to general masses.

Among others, Prof. Tania Akhter, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Omar, Dr. Amreen, Rahil,  faculty members and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
