Prabhari Officer visits Panchayat Panj Garain in Nagrota
Urges public for active participation to avail maximum benefits of govt schemes
JAMMU, September 5: Programme Coordination Executive, Department of Information and Public Relations Akanksha Kalsotra who is also the Prabhari Officer of Panchayat Panj Garain, Block Nagrota, today inspected the ongoing developmental works of the Panchayat.
During the visit Prabhari Officer convened a meeting of officers of line departments, PRI members, general public and took stock of the ongoing works.
She apprised the members about the “Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week” which is being celebrated throughout the Union Territory from September 4 to 10, 2023, with the aim to eradicate corruption and promote transparent and accountable governance. She stressed upon all stakeholders to ensure speedy redressal of public issues besides ensuring prompt service delivery through transparent manner.
Representatives from line departments like Revenue, PWD, JKPDCL, PDD, PHE, JJM, RDD also apprised the public about online services of their respective departments. The officers informed the public that the initiative of making all services online has been taken with an aim to create a corruption-free environment.
Visiting Officer also interacted with the officers of line departments and enquired about the steps being taken up for early redressal of grievances.
She also urged the public for active participation in these programmes and to avail the maximum benefits of different Government schemes and programmes. She further stressed on convergence between different departments and programmes for better service delivery.
Earlier, Sarpanch Thoru Ram apprised the members about the emergent issues and also expressed satisfaction for successful completion of important works in recent past. Some of the major works that have been completed include black topping of road (Panj Grain to Seri Kalan), inauguration of two projects under JJM, installation of electric poles in several areas, sanctioning and installation of hand pumps among several other projects.
Further, Visiting Officer emphasized that various pending works pertaining to different departments are in progress and will be completed at an earliest for the benefit of the public good.
It was also given out in the meeting the village Seri Kalan of panchayat Panj Grain has been selected by the Department of Agriculture as Organic Cluster under paramparagat krishi vikas yojana.
Under the programme, a cluster of 50 farmers has been selected with each farmer having 8 kanals of land (total cluster land is 400 Kanals) to promote purely organic farming.
