Preparations regarding celebrations of Mehraj-ul-Alam, Maha Shivratri festivals reviewed at Budgam
DC stressed on ensuring Infallible arrangements in shrines, mosques during ensuing festivals in the District
BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 8:The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for the ensuing auspicious Mehraj -ul- Alam and Maha Shivratri (Herath) festivals in district Budgam.
Besides official, the representatives from waqf of peth makhama shrine, Charar-i -sharief and pandit community were also present.
The meeting discussed threadbare preparations to be made for the celebrations of Shab-i- Mehraj and MahaShivratri and responsibilities were assigned to different departments.
At the outset, the DC directed District police to ensure proper security at both the places i.e Peth Makhama, Charar-i-sharief and Migrant colony sheikh pora Budgam during the celebrations of both the festivals.
Further, He directed KPDCL Budgam for illumination of prominent religious places of both communities, besides, interrupted power supply and ensuring functioning of street lights at all places.
He instructed EOs of concerned Municipal Committees to carry out special cleanliness drives and initiate proactive measures for dumping of garbage and other waste and maintain proper sanitation in all areas.
Health authorities were instructed to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub centers and ensure better medical assistance at designated places.
With regard to availability of ration, the DC directed AD Food to ensure timely supply and distribution of food grains, besides ensure the availability of essential commodities to the general public.
The DC also directed the ARTO to ensure hassle-free availability of transport facility on the auspicious days and directed him to coordinate with the traffic department so that various bottlenecks to smooth flow of traffic are removed.
The DC instructed Fisheries department and Horticulture Department to display banners at both places. They were directed to establish sale centres of fish, walnut and other dry fruits, nadru and honey at the Migrant colony Sheikhpora to facilitate the availability of all required items to the members of Pandit Community for a smooth celebration of Herath festival.
During the meeting, the DC directed the Department of PHE to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply. They were directed to provide water tankers at identified locations.
To check illegal profiteering and hoarding in the markets, the DC directed concerned to constitute squads who will monitor and conduct market checking drives to ensure sale of quality food items.
Besides, ADDC Budgam, Dr. Akhramullah Tak, CPO planning Rafiq Ahamd, Executive engineer PDD, PHE, AD CAPD, AD Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, ARTO, Cooperatives and EOs of Municipal Committees were present in the meeting.
